What is a Data Sync Project?

In Data Sync a project refers to the integration task you have configured. It is an XML file that represents an integration between a source and target that is saved on your local file system.

You can also store Data Sync projects within your Ouvvi database however these remain separate to any project files stored in your file system.

To open local Data Sync projects within your file system simply locate it within your files and double click to open. Alternatively you can right click on the file and select open with and then select Data Synchronisation Studio.

Opening Projects Stored in Ouvvi

If you are using Ouvvi to manage and schedule your integration tasks then your Data Sync project file will be stored within the Ouvvi database. Within Ouvvi Data Sync projects are known as steps, therefore in this section the Data Sync project file will now be referred to as a step. To open these within Data Sync there are two options:

1- Opening an Ouvvi Data Sync Step from Data Sync
2- Opening a Data Sync Step from Ouvvi

Project Properties

Each project has its own project properties that can be edited as needed.

An example of a property you might edit is the SyncFailOnError property. You can change this from the default to False to allow the project to continue running even if there are errors. This can be useful when trying to debug a data row that is causing a sync to fail for example.

You can read more about project properties here.
